The University Community Development Corporation (UCDC) was chartered as a 501 (c) 3 non-profit corporation on June 24, 1988 by Clark Atlanta University. On January 3, 1989, the charter was amended to reflect the participation of the member institutions of the Atlanta University Center (AUC), which included Clark Atlanta University (CAU), the Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC), Morehouse College, the Morehouse School of Medicine, Morris Brown College, and Spelman College. In 1999, UCDC reorganized under the auspices of AUC, Inc., the non-profit organization that oversees the administration of shared resources and consortium activities for the six AUC institutions. Since its inception, UCDC has invested over $6.5 million in the communities surrounding the Atlanta University Center.
